About
The Makers Out

The Makers Out is a musical project born in the tallgrass prairie of America’s heartland, channeled through a Tulsan, with vibrations that are made to extend to the farthest reaches of space and time. “I feel like my music is spiritual in nature,” said project leader Scott Bell (vocals, lyrics, guitar) “I, through my own practice, do not write songs regularly, but wait for them to write themselves through me.”

After a career spent playing a multitude of roles in music – producer for dozens of artists and records, production manager for live shows for crowds of thousands, touring partner with Julianna Barwick, and even opening for Sigur Ros – Bell now adds ‘Art Rock Frontman’ to that list, a role which listeners will be thankful he has learned to embrace after years of playing behind the scenes. For The Makers Out’s debut LP, ‘BLOODLINES/HOPE’ Bell recruited an impressive supporting cast that includes Daniel Goodwin (Kevin Morby), John Fulbright (Turnpike Troubadours), Jake Lynn (Wyatt Flores), Mat Maxwell (Luke Combs), Chris Combs (COMBSY), and many more, to create a dreamy, cinematic Americana soundscape that feels at once delicate and immersive. “BLOODLINES/HOPE is about ancestral reverence and integration, land honoring, flower culture, indigenous European and American music, landscapes, death, rebirth, and shocking colorful textures of sound and light,” Bell said. “This project is about ceremony and opening portals to other dimensions of the self.”
